Fraternities, by definition, are about brotherhood and all the emotions related to this. Blood brothers are related by a common parent or parent, growing up together, living together all with shared experiences. Frat brothers are related also by shared experiences, starting from pledging/neophyte rites. This is especially relevant to “batch” mates, neophytes that endured the pledging rites together and got accepted together.

These are experiences that are common to ALL members of the frat and since, by tradition, pledging is very similar batch to batch. This insures that the experiences are common regardless of batch and therefore ALL members’ experiences are relatively the same. This common experience gives each frat member a sense of belonging, of security, and of good times. Also membership allows frat members to wear their frat colors and insignias as a form of advertising their membership to a frat with all the pride and security it comes with. Thus, I believe that greek sweatshirts and other fraternity apparel perform this necessary function regardless of the actual fraternity.

My nephew will be celebrating his second birthday next week, and I am still looking for the best present to give him.  Being my only nephew, I wasn’t just about to give anything, what I wanted to give him was something unique, something he would love to play with.

When he was just a baby, I used to give different items from little giraffe, such as blankets, pillows, towels and clothing, I even brought his first ever crib beddings from little giraffe.   I still give him little giraffe clothing once in a while.  What I liked about little giraffe are the soft-toned pastel and gorgeous earth tones and are easily taken care of.  I was looking at various gift ideas, when it finally hit me, what if I buy him a tricycle? My daughter will  be taking her first communion next month, and thus, my husband and I were busy doing the necessary preparations for this special event.  We wanted everything to be perfect, from the food, decorations, and her communion dress.  We spent hours looking at a lot of communion dresses, before we finally saw the perfect dress for her, and of course, she also had to like the dress.

Looking at all those communion dresses, made me  remember the time when my daughter was asked to be a flower girl at my brother’s wedding.  The dress wasn’t the problem since all the flower girls will be wearing the same dress, however, my brother and sister-in-law didn’t know what dress to choose from all the flower girl dresses.  So, I had to choose the style and design of the flower girl dress they will use.  It took me a few weeks to finally select the perfect flower girl dress, but it was worth it.  I really believe that it takes time to choose the perfect dress for one of the most memorable occasions in our lives.

I have a friend who was married for over five years and never had his wife pregnant until one day, they found out that she is already two months pregnant. It took time before they were able to have a child and they are really happy with this blessing. Their only child now is already one year old and they are giving everything they can to their child. Their kid have lots of toys, clothes, strollers and everything that a child need. Toys like remote controls, cars, helicopters and many more toys even these toys cannot be played properly by their very young son. Their kid have a very useful strollers too like umbrella strollers, triple strollers and all terrian strollers.

A couple who didn’t had a child as son as they got married and after a long years of waiting when they have a child already, they usually love this child more than those child who came earlier on other couple. Maybe it is because they are expecting their child to come earlier so when it took so long, they are becoming more excited with their child. That is why my friend and his wife are giving everything they can for their baby.

Christmas is around the corner, you can easily tell just by looking at all the Christmas decorations at our neighbors’ houses, the mall, and streets, and the endless Christmas songs in the radio.  I haven’t done any Christmas shopping yet, since I’ve been busy at work lately I actually haven’t written down my Christmas list, but for my nephews I exactly knew what to give them this Christmas.

I saw these great ideas for Christmas gifts while I was browsing the internet, there were Remote control trucks, that they will surely enjoy racing with each other, and then Cen Racing has a variety of monster trucks, however, if I wanted to give something different than trucks and cars, I could get them toy rockets form Estes Rockets.  Estes is known to build safe, quality and durable rocket models.  My nephews would really love launching their own rockets. The best thing about getting these toys is, I can order them from the internet, so I there is no need to go to the mall, I could just order them through the internet, and they will be delivered to my doorstep.

I remember being a little kid and listening to Peter Rabbit stories that my mom reads before bedtime.  I really love the adventures he and his friends have.  Bedtime is not the same without Peter Rabbit stories.  Aside from Peter Rabbit, I also liked watching Betty Boop cartoons, and her funny adventures.  But as time went by, I outgrew my Peter Rabbit bedtime stories and Betty Boop cartoons.

However, my  fascination to Peter Rabbit and Betty Boop did not end together with my childhood, though I no longer watch Betty Boop cartoons nor read Peter Rabbit, I have a wide collection of Beatrix Potter figurines, I have at least one figurine of her characters in Peter Rabbit stories.  Since the figurines were very fragile, I had to put them behind glass shelves.   I also have Betty Boop collectables like bags, glasses, figurines and shirts.  I still sometimes use the bags and shirts when going to the mall or when I feel like it.  Now that I have my own kids, I read to them Peter Rabbit stories and sometimes use my Beatrix Potter figurines to portray the characters better, and my daughter is the one using my Betty Boop collectables of bags and other apparel. It’s fun keeping in touch with childhood once in a while.

As a woman, there is nothing more fulfilling and satisfying than getting pregnant. As what many people say, having a child is the mere essence of being a woman. When I found out I was pregnant a year ago, I was like the happiest person in the whole world. I could not explain the great feeling I had then, but the only thing I am sure of is that it was the best feeling I have ever felt in my whole entire life.

With all the excitements, on my earlier months, I already bought a lot of baby stuffs at the shop-all-you-can where you can buy and shop everything and anything you need, I had feeding bottles to baby clothing up to Baby Bedding and Linens and bought two Mattresses and Blankets so I could already replace our old ones in our room.  I also put some Home Furnishing decors inside our room to make it even more comfortable.   When the time came that I was about to give birth, it was the most painful that I felt like dying almost. I was crying and screaming in pain until I heard the very first cry of my baby. It was heaven afterwards. The pain is all worth everything especially the next morning I woke up with my baby sleeping beside me. I cried, but it was a cry of joy and thankfulness.

My birthday was coming up, and my uncle who was working overseas promised to give me whatever I want, I just have to email him what I wanted.  When his package came, the Motorola cell phone I wanted was there, it had a letter saying “Happy Birthday” and that I should take care of it.  Why wouldn’t I take care of it? I’ve always wanted this Motorola cell phone unit ever since I saw it on TV.
